Cookies and storage on your device

The site uses essential cookies only: one keeps you signed in, one protects forms against forgery, and an optional one remembers you on this device if you ask it to. There are no advertising or analytics cookies and no third-party trackers. Your progress, your chosen instrument and the tunes you save for offline use are also kept in your browser's storage on your device, so that practice works offline.

What we collect

Why we use it

We use your data to run your account and your tunebook, to give you the access you paid for, to send the emails you ask for or that keep your account secure, and to keep the service safe. This rests on performing our contract with you and on our legitimate interest in running a secure service.

Who else handles it

Transfers outside the EU

Stripe, SendGrid, Google and DigitalOcean are US companies or part of US groups, so your data may be accessed from the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses in these providers' data processing terms.

How long we keep it

We keep your account, tunebook and settings until you delete your account; we don't delete inactive accounts. When you delete your account, we remove your account, progress, settings and purchase records at once. Notifications from Stripe are deleted 30 days after we have processed them, or after 90 days if processing failed, so that we can look into it. Server logs are kept for 14 days. Backups are kept for 30 days, so deleted data is gone from them within 30 days. Stripe and Link keep their own records of your purchases for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Children

The service isn't directed at children under 15. If you believe a child has given us data without a parent's agreement, write to us and we'll delete it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access to your data, to rectification, to erasure, to restriction and objection, and to portability. You can change your email and password and delete your account on the account page. For anything else, write to the contact address below; we answer within one month. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority: in the Czech Republic, the Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, uoou.gov.cz), or the authority of the country where you live.
